In October 2023, New Cotton Project consortium partners participated in the first ECOSYSTEX Conference in Barcelona, which brought together industry leaders and researchers from EU-funded projects, and policymakers, focusing on textile sustainability and circularity.

Traci Kinden (REvolve Waste), Paula Sarsama (Infinited Fiber Company) and Libby Martin (adidas) facilitated an interactive workshop on creating data-driven solutions to recycling feedstock challenges resulting in an insightful brainstorm with representatives from other projects.

Paula Sarsama from Infinited Fiber Company presented the New Cotton Project, discussed the challenges of scaling in the textile recycling space and stressed the importance of collaboration to move the current initiatives forward.
