On 14 February 2023, the New Cotton Project consortium had the pleasure of organising a policy roundtable in Brussels, dedicated to the topic of textile waste management.

Together with the SCIRT and CISUTAC projects, we invited EU policy makers, profiles from all stages of the textiles supply chain, research institutes, along with the European Research Executive Agency (REA) and the European Commission to discuss the challenges in circular economy and textile recycling, as well as collection and sorting of post-consumer textiles.

It was an afternoon full of fruitful group discussions. Looking forward to continuing the conversation and driving policy development to facilitate scaling up textile recycling in Europe.
